After a successful premiere at the BFI London Film Festival, brooding and atmospheric folk horror film Starve Acre has been acquired for North American distribution by Brainstorm Media.

Brainstorm Media has acquired North American rights for “Cora Bora,” a millennial comedy starring “Hacks” breakout Megan Stalter and “The Good Place’s” Manny Jacinto.

The feature, about a Filipino immigrant and single mother who is a caretaker for a haunted British estate, bowed at SXSW and is set for a Dec. 8 theatrical release.

The film is the first from writer-director Shane Atkinson and is set for release in theaters and on digital in 2024.

The deal, also involving Music Box Films, comes ahead of a North American premiere for Ivan Sen's Australian noir at TIFF.

REinvent International Sales has closed a North America deal with Brainstorm Media on horror feature Dark Windows. The deal was negotiated between Brainstorm Media’s Alex Peters and REinvent’s Peter Ahlén. Alex Herron (Leave) directs and the cast includes Annie Hamilton (The Wolf of Snow Hollow, Inventing Anna).

Brainstorm Media has acquired North American rights for “Nightride,” a dark humored, action-packed thriller from BAFTA-nominated helmer Stephen Fingleton (“The Survivalist”), starring Moe Dunford (“Vikings,” “Texas Chainsaw Massacre”) and Joana Ribeiro (“The Man Who Killed Don Quixote”).

In nearly every tale of romance, there’s a foil. You know, the nightmare date that provides the catalyst for the protagonist to realize that they’re meant for bigger and better things.
