
Brainstorm Media has acquired North American rights to “After All” a generational drama set in Austin, Texas, starring Penelope Ann Miller (“Carlito’s Way”) and Erika Christensen (“Will Trent”).
The indie movie directed by Kerstin Karlhuber (“Fair Haven”) and executive-produced by Christensen depicts the journey of a woman named Ellen (played by Christensen) who returns home to care for her ailing mother (played by Penelope Ann Miller) and estranged teenage daughter.
Zach Gilford (“The Purge: Anarchy”); David James Elliott (“Heels”); Mike O’Malley (“Snowpiercer”); Sierra McCormack (“American Horror Story”) and newcomer Kiara Muhammad also star.
The screenplay, based on a true story, is penned by Jack Bryant (“Fair Haven”).
“As three generations of women come together, they grapple with the challenges of reconnecting and discovering the strength to forgive,” according to the provided synopsis.
Brainstorm Media, which purchased “After All” from LA-based Sublimity Entertainment, is now planning a U.S. release for the film this fall.

Erika, Penelope, and Kiara have given their all to these characters, delivering powerful performances which resonate deeply with people.”

“After All” was produced by Dale Wade Davis, Kerstin Karlhuber, Tom Malloy, Joanna Zippel, Christian Sosa and Jon Wroblewski. It was executive produced by Erika Christensen and Penelope Ann Miller with casting by Kerry Barden and Paul Schnee. The director of photography Pascal Combes-Knoke, the editors are Samuel Butler and Melody London and the original music composed by Kelli Scarr.
The deal was negotiated by VP of Sales and Acquisitions Alex Peters on behalf of Brainstorm and by Christian Sosa of Roosevelt Film Lab.
